Iron Man is one of my Top-10 favorite MCU characters. It all started with him after all, and in building my Hot Toys collection, I was always going to get around to picking up an Iron Man figure eventually, but on St. Patrick’s Day of 2018, my wonderful wife surprised me with this awesome Power Pose Iron Man figure from Hot Toys; my very first Iron Man figure, and I was thrilled to add him to my collection.
This is the suit that Iron Man wore (and sometimes didn’t) in Spider-Man: Homecoming; the Mark XLVII. Out of the box, this is a gorgeous figure as this Iron Man suit features the traditional red with a lot of silver and some gold. It all comes together really nicely, and a flight stand is also included that allows Iron Man to soar above other Hot Toys figures.
Being a Power Pose figure, there isn’t much to write about in terms of box art, articulation, or extra hands, but the coolest part of owning this figure for me was its light-up feature. Iron Man’s eyes, hands, and Arc Reactor all light up, and this was the first Hot Toys figure I ever owned that did so! When he is all lit-up in a dark room, the Iron Man figure commands attention, and most guests when viewing my collection at the time would go right to Iron Man first thing, as he just stands out in height, in shine, and in brightness! Positioned on his stand, Iron Man measures right at 16-inches.
Iron man commands attention…as Tony would have it any other way! It is a great figure.
