The very first Hot Toys figure that I ever received was the Hot Toys Loki from Thor: The Dark World back in 2017. At the time, it was the most affordable Loki on the market, and I was brand new to collecting Hot Toys, so the Dark World figure was a perfect starting point. Even then though, I had my eyes on the Hot Toys Loki figure from The Avengers. After all, it was Loki in his most iconic look: the long green cape and the golden helmet with the giant thorns extending out from it. I hoped to someday own a Loki figure in this fashion and after Avengers: Endgame revisited the Battle of New York, Hot Toys announced a re-release of the Avengers Loki, though it was updated and rebranded for Avengers: Endgame and this was one of my most anticipated Hot Toys figures of all-time!
It was three-years removed from Avengers: Endgame before the golden-horned Loki adorned my shelves and the Loki from Endgame was the landmark 25th Hot Toys figure that I owned. He was everything that I hoped he would be, and more!
The word I would choose to describe this Loki figure is majestic. He looks fueled with Glorious Purpose! Loki is thick, detailed, and stands 13-inches from the top of his horn to his feet. His outfit is ripped right out of The Avengers with a mix of black and greens and golden trims. The helmet piece is immaculate, and yes, it is removable, though the hair sculpt without the helmet is quite unbecoming. This was a miss in the eyes of a lot of the reviews that I saw but getting that helmet look was part of this figure’s appeal for me and I have no intentions of ever displaying him without it anyway, so I wasn’t bothered.
Loki’s cape fits perfectly and he comes with two Cosmic Scepters and a Tesseract which add to the figure’s presentation on the shelf. In short, he is everything that I hoped he would be and even with a Hulk-Buster, a Hulk, and Thanos on my shelf, my love for Loki combined with how long I wanted this sort of Loki figure makes him my favorite piece of my entire collection!
