This one was a long time coming!
From the very first time that I saw Avengers: Endgame, I already owned a Captain America Hot Toys figure. It was the Steve Rogers from Captain America: Civil War figure. it was one of the first four Hot Toys that I ever owned, because Steve Rogers is my favorite traditional Marvel Hero, and at the time, I was trying to amass a collection of my most favorite characters. I’ve reviewed that figure on this site, and it’s still one of my favorite pieces, but when I saw Avengers: Endgame and I heard “Avengers Assemble!” and saw Steve clinch that shattered shield and wield Mjolnir, I knew that I was watching the defining moment of Captain America, and I knew that if Hot Toys made a figure that captured that moment, it was going to be a must own!
In 2022 for my Wedding Anniversary, I finally scored the figure as a gift from my wonderful wife, and I adore this piece!
The Endgame Cap is an upgrade over the Civil War Cap in just about every conceivable way. He poses better, the articulation is less stiff, and the body type that they used is perfect. Cap looks strong and determined (captured by the option to trade out a bottom facial piece that allows you change his expression). I do not have my Cap posed with the Chris Evans unmasked optional head sculpt that came with the figure, but I will say that head sculpt is the best that Hot Toys has ever done for Evans!
I love the uniform and all of the little details put into this figure from the way the uniform fits to the paint touches. Cap comes with a broken shield (complete with the broken pieces) and Mjolnir, which I of course have him posed holding.
Since 2017, my collection of Hot Toys figures has grown to a point that it’s really difficult to rank them, for each piece means something different to me that invoke different emotions, but I have to say, this is the ultimate Captain America and it’s very near the top of my list of favorite pieces.
Even if Chris Evans does return to the MCU someday as a Variant of Cap and even if we see him as an old man again, I don’t think Hot Toys will ever again create a Captain America figure as perfect as this one!
If you love Captain America and collect Hot Toys, it is an absolute must-own!
